Day 1 of 40 Day Fast 2012
Day 1 was great. Out of bed at 5:15 to get ready to preach 4 times (without coffee). The services all went great and we were blessed.
Weight 216 lbs (In my first 40 day fast I lost 40 lbs)
I walked 1 mile and plan to do this every day if possible. (My favorite thing to do for stress relief, health, prayer time, fellowship)
I started reading the Bible through this morning with the first 3 chapters of Genesis.
I have more books picked out to read during these 40 days than I can possibly read but I started today with Mark Batterson’s new book “The Circle Maker”
Of course there have been no hunger pains today and to be honest very little desire to eat. As I was walking the thought crossed my mind that I really am sick of eating badly and over eating and paying good money for food that many times isn’t worth eating.
I am praying about where to give the money I will save by not eating these next few days. (God will show me the right place) This is the kind of fast that God desires.
The truth is, I love eating but I want more than anything else in the world to draw closer to God. I am excited…
I am really excited about all of the people who are fasting with me in some way. There are several, be encouraged.
Ronnie
