The Only Evangelism That Works: Be An Imagebearer

Cashless – Book Review

I became interested in this book when I was walking through our local WalGreens. they have a book rack there and as I was waiting on Misty this book caught my eye. I am not one to spend too much time on prophecy and end time events, however I am very interested and always longing for the return of Christ.

This book was a good read but I could have done with half of what is here and been just fine. It is written from the basic Baptist interpretation of the end times and of course I do not agree with all of it. I am not sure where I stand when it comes to the rapture of the church and if there is one at what point in time that will happen. Now I know that people don’t like it when I say this but it is the truth and you won’t convince me until I have studied the text and come to a conclusion for myself. I hope to do that later this year.

Here are a few quotes from the book and a comment or two.

“A government big enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take everything you have.” Thomas Jefferson

He talks a lot in the book about a One World Government and I do believe Scripture speaks to this end.

“Will we be wise enough to see it coming? Will we be ready?”

This is a question we as Christians have to ask ourselves. So many people don’t have a clue what the Bible says about the coming of Jesus Christ to set the world right and sadly, many do not care.

“McCashless This is already being tested at one McDonald’s in South Korea: Customers with special software on their cell phones can receive the restaurant’s updated menu as they walk through the door. While in line or even while seated, customers can point their phones at a menu and transmit their order to the counter. They then receive a text message when their order is ready, grab the food, and take a seat. And get this: McDonald’s simply adds the cost of the food to the customer’s cell phone bill.”

Just one more indication of the world in which we live. Better get ready.

“I was born in 1959. So, like many of you, I remember rotary-dial phones, cars without air conditioning, black-and-white television sets with rabbit-ear antennae and three channels, clotheslines, typewriters, eight-track stereos, cassette tapes, clunky mobile phones, and beta max. Who would have thought 30 years ago that a state-of-the-art electric typewriter would be a dust-collecting museum piece in a mere decade? Is it possible that in the near future, that prized “Benjamin” in your wallet will become a relic?”

Reference to a cashless society of which I too believe we are headed toward.

“Preparation for the acceptance of worshipping a man is well under way. The world, like never before, is looking for a great world leader, a messiah, a savior to solve the profound predicaments the world faces today. The world is well down the road toward worshipping the ultimate idol.”

This too I believe to be the case. The world is primed and ready for the end as we know it.
